Personally, i would rather wear the white set in the summer (but i would need both pieces, if i was gonna pull it off) than the black. Black on silver/gray would be cooler and still match a lot of styles. if only it was offered in a silver/gray color instead of black/black or racer white+highlight. Plus they make a pair of matching overpants. It has leather+armor in the impact zones and mesh+ducts in the abdomen. For that reason, when i buy a mesh jacket it will probably be the Icon Compound Mesh Jacket. I have been looking at mesh jackets and what i have read about the durability of the current textiles leaves me looking for more tearing/abrasion resistance. I personally don't have a mesh 'summer' jacket, but i do have a nice leather jacket that is fine for the other 3 seasons and is not bad when you are up to speed and riding in the summer. personally i like the 2.0 better than other Alter Ego's because it is more variable. while leaving the sleeves/body panel in place while removing others won't help in the rain, it might be useful for day/night riding in dry climates or some late season riding depending on your personal tolerance to heat/cold. The 2.0 has modular panels that can be attached, which means you don't have to have all covered or nothing covered. Either is definitely easier to reconfigure compared to the design of the 2.0. Studying all of these, i would have to say that the 3.0 and the 11.0 are of the same design, essentially it becomes wind/water proof when you put another jacket on top of it, while the armor and protection is built into the mesh 'underjacket'. There is also an Alter Ego 2.0 that is different from either of these. Stolen bikes belong in local subreddits.
